Being a Lay Dominican means striving to be the saint God has called us each to be with the guidance of the Rule of the Lay Fraternities of Saint Dominic.
When entering the Order of Saint Dominic as a Lay member, one makes a promise to live according to the Rule of the Order.
This involves living out the Four Pillars of the Dominican Order on a daily, monthly, and yearly cycle in the different ways that our lay state in life allows.
Unlike that of religious, the structure of life for the laity does not always permit the same fidelity to all of the obligations, but we strive to fulfill them to the best of our ability according to our state of life.
